Strategy guides

Most players learn the rules in thirty seconds and then never improve again. These guides are about the part nobody explains: how to choose an opener that actually earns its place, how to read a messy second row, and how to avoid the handful of word families that end long streaks.

Where to start

If you are already winning most days and want to lose fewer, read the trap words guide first — the majority of lost games come from a small number of word families rather than from bad openers.

If you generally solve in five or six guesses and would like to solve in three or four, start with the complete strategy guide. The single biggest gain for most players is learning to give up a guess on a word that cannot be the answer.
